Public laboratory evidence
Test Results
Follow the application records. Test the water and creek-bed sediment. Publish the evidence.
PROGRAM STATUS
Awaiting funding
Our community monitoring program is awaiting funding. CWMP laboratory results and a public sample-location map will appear here as sampling and testing are completed.
CWMP will find out whether forestry herbicides are leaving treated land and entering the watersheds of Lassen and Plumas counties. We will post all laboratory results on our website and on a public map of sample locations, so residents can see what is in their water, and give regulators a documented basis for investigation and action.
Each site's PURs tell us what to test.
We obtain the pesticide use reports for the land above each collection point, identify the active ingredients used and select the corresponding laboratory tests. The records determine each site's testing budget. Before fall rain and spring snowmelt, we write a sampling plan for runoff water and selected creek-bed sediment.
Chemicals and laboratory prices
| Chemical | Laboratory test price |
|---|---|
| Hexazinone — herbicide screen | $100 |
| 2,4-D and triclopyr — phenoxy screen | $150 |
| Indaziflam | $130 |
| Imazapyr | $130 |
| Glyphosate and AMPA | $230 |
Source: Waters Agricultural Laboratories' 2024 Price Guide, Chemical & Residue Analysis, page 11. The founder's June 20, 2025 invoice confirms the herbicide screen, phenoxy screen and imazapyr prices. Current prices and water/sediment sample requirements will be confirmed before ordering; sediment prices are not assumed to match water prices.
Rapid results, documented experience
The founder has used Waters Agricultural Laboratories in Camilla, Georgia, for water and pond-sediment testing and reports 24-hour turnaround in his experience. Turnaround for the specific analyses ordered will be confirmed for each submission. Waters states that it is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited; we will obtain its certificate and scope to confirm coverage for the herbicide analyses we order.
All results in public view
Each published result will identify the sample type, date, location, chemicals tested, laboratory report, reporting limits, detections and non-detections, and related application records. The sample map will link to the evidence. Where findings warrant complaints, we will guide investigators to the collection points and publish agency findings, decisions and responses.
No CWMP program laboratory results or sample locations have been published yet.
